A restaurant or cafe in Qatar finds wholesale food suppliers by category (dairy, frozen, dry goods, produce, meat), then checks each one on delivery, minimum order, payment terms and food safety before the first order. After that, the work is ordering from all of them every week without losing track.
This guide covers how to find suppliers, what to check, five examples with sources, and how one free app handles ordering from all of them.
Key takeaways
Start from what you buy most, then look for wholesale suppliers in that category who say they serve restaurants, cafes, hotels or catering.
Before the first order, check delivery days and cut-off, minimum order, pack sizes, payment terms, and food safety.
Wady is not a directory or a marketplace. You keep your own suppliers and prices.
The Wady Purchase System is free and puts all your suppliers in one app, and any supplier not on Wady yet can be added by you.
How do restaurants and cafes in Qatar find wholesale food suppliers?
There are four common routes.
Other operators. Ask a chef or owner at a similar kitchen who they order from.
Supplier websites. Many wholesalers publish their categories, who they serve and a contact form.
Directories and trade listings. Useful for a first list, but check each name yourself.
Direct calls and WhatsApp. Many suppliers take orders this way, so you will end up here too.
Search by category, not by "wholesale". A cafe needs dairy, coffee, packaging and bakery. A grill needs frozen meat, produce and oil. One supplier rarely covers everything, so you will likely work with several.
What should you check before you order from a wholesale supplier?
Check these eight things, and write the answers down.

Categories. Do they stock what you buy most, in the pack sizes you use?
Delivery days and cut-off. Which days do they deliver to your area, and what time must the order be in?
Minimum order. Is there a minimum per order or per delivery?
Payment terms. Cash on delivery, or credit? If credit, what limit and how many days?
Prices. How are they quoted, and for how long are they valid?
Food safety and handling. Ask about halal certification where it applies and how chilled and frozen goods are kept cold in transit. Qatar's Ministry of Public Health publishes a Food Safety Practices Guide for Food Services that covers traceability and recall.
Short or wrong deliveries. How do they handle a missing item, a substitution or a return?
Ordering channel. Phone, WhatsApp, email or a form? Who confirms the order?
A supplier that answers all eight clearly is easier to work with than one with the lowest price and vague answers.
Which wholesale food suppliers operate in Qatar?
Here are five examples taken from each company's own public website, read on 1 October 2026. The list is not a ranking and not complete, and Wady has not tested or endorsed any of them. Facts below are what each site says about itself. Confirm everything with the supplier.
Supplier | What its site lists | Who it says it serves | How its site says to order |
|---|---|---|---|
Dairy and chilled, dry and ambient grocery, frozen food, confectionery and snacks | Hotels, restaurants, catering companies, food service operators, retail chains | Phone, email addresses and a contact form; Doha address | |
20+ categories, including flour and rice, spices, dairy, frozen poultry, frozen fish, oils and ghee, canned foods, tea and coffee, frozen meat, packaging | Restaurants, cafes, hotels, catering companies | "Order Now" and product pages on the site, a contact page; states same-day delivery for orders before noon | |
Rice and grains, spices and pulses, fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and frozen products, FMCG and dry goods | Catering companies and central kitchens, trading and contracting companies, retail and hospitality clients | Contact form, phone, WhatsApp, email, quotation requests | |
Frozen foods, dairy, beverages, snacks, canned goods, bakery, dry goods | Retail, wholesale traders and HORECA (hotels, restaurants, cafes, catering) | Purchase orders by email, plus phone and WhatsApp; Doha offices | |
Frozen chicken and meat, wholesale and retail | Restaurants, cafeterias, grocery stores, catering companies, hotels, bulk buyers | Phone, email, WhatsApp, business registration on the site for bulk orders |
Notice what the table shows. Each supplier covers some categories, not all. Each has its own way to take an order. That is why the ordering side matters as much as finding the names.
What is the hard part after you choose your suppliers?
The hard part is ordering from several suppliers every week. Each one has its own channel, its own prices and its own cut-off. Operators in Qatar describe the same problems.
Retyping. Orders sent on paper, WhatsApp or Excel get rewritten into one sheet. One operator: "Every night someone sits down and writes all the orders down."
Emailed orders that get missed. Suppliers live on WhatsApp and calls, so an email order can be missed, then duplicated.
Prices from memory. The catalogue is not in front of you, so you message a supplier just to check today's price.
No clean record. When a delivery arrives wrong, you scroll back through a chat to prove what you ordered.
See WhatsApp vs one app for how the two compare, and how to track supplier orders in Qatar.
Phone and WhatsApp vs one ordering app
Phone and WhatsApp | One ordering app | |
|---|---|---|
Where orders live | Across chats, calls and voice notes | One app, all suppliers |
Catalogue and prices | From memory, or ask the supplier | Supplier catalogue on screen, your prices loaded |
Delivery day and cut-off | You remember each supplier's | Shown in the app |
Record of the order | Scroll back through the chat | Items, quantities and prices saved |
Best at | One urgent item from one supplier | Regular ordering across many suppliers and branches |
Both work. A phone call wins for one urgent item. An app wins once you order from several suppliers each week. More in restaurant purchasing software.
How Wady helps with wholesale supplier ordering
What does Wady do?
Wady's Purchase System is a free app for restaurants, cafes, hotels and catering kitchens in Qatar. All your suppliers, one app. Same suppliers. Same prices. Same relationships. An order goes out in four steps:

Pick the supplier from your connected suppliers.
Fill the basket from the full catalogue, at your prices, with minimum order and pack size shown.
Choose the delivery date. Their delivery days and cut-off times are already in there.
Send it. The supplier gets it straight away, and you both hold the same record.
A supplier on Wady connects to you with a code or invite link. A supplier not on Wady yet? Add them yourself with their products and prices, and the purchase order goes out by email with you copied. That way you can order from every wholesaler on your list from day one. Because suppliers often miss email, you may still want to confirm an urgent order by phone.
What does Wady not do?
Wady does not find suppliers for you. It is not a directory and not a marketplace. It does not sit between you and your suppliers, and nobody sees a supplier's catalogue without their code. Prices are per customer. The suppliers named in this guide are examples from their own websites, and this guide does not say any of them is on Wady.
Who is it for, and what does it cost?
It is for any restaurant, cafe, hotel or catering kitchen that orders from more than one supplier. It is 100% free for restaurants, with no fees and no contracts, forever. Wady charges the suppliers, never the buyer. Setup takes about five minutes, and the app runs in five languages on iOS, Android and any browser at order.wady.ai. See the Purchase System and pricing.
Over 100 businesses in Qatar already use Wady, including Crave Holdings and OMC.
