Restaurant supplier ordering systems in Qatar and the GCC: 7 options compared (2026)

By Asaad Al Hashmi, Founder and CEO of Wady

A restaurant kitchen team smiling at the camera

For a restaurant, cafe, hotel or catering kitchen that orders stock from several suppliers in Qatar, the best fit depends on what you need on top of ordering. If you only want to order, a free app that holds your suppliers and agreed prices is enough, and Wady's Purchase System is one. If you also need stock, recipes and costing, look at a paid suite. If you order from two or three suppliers, WhatsApp can still do the job.

This guide is about a supplier ordering system: software where a restaurant orders stock from its suppliers. It is not about guests ordering food from a restaurant. We compare seven options on one table, then say who each one fits.

We are Wady, and we make two of the options below. Judge us by the table. Competitor details were checked on 3 October 2026 from their public pages, with source links in each entry.

Key takeaways

  • A supplier ordering system holds your suppliers, your agreed prices and a record of every order, so you stop ordering from memory across chats.

  • Seven options compared: Wady Purchase System, Wady Central, Supy, Foodics with Inventory, Stocktake Online, WhatsApp with calls and email, and spreadsheets or an ERP module.

  • The Wady Purchase System is the only option in the table that is free for the restaurant and built in Qatar. Stock and recipe costing sit in paid tools.

  • Wady is built for Qatar. GCC groups elsewhere can still use the criteria and the table, and can ask us what is possible.

What is a restaurant supplier ordering system?

A restaurant supplier ordering system is an app where a restaurant orders stock from its suppliers. It shows each supplier's products and prices, sends the order, and keeps a record of what was ordered and what it cost.

It sits at the buying end of the kitchen. Guest ordering apps sit at the selling end. People search for both as "restaurant ordering system" or "restaurant ordering app", so check which one a page means.

In Qatar, most kitchens still order on WhatsApp, calls and email. Operators of multi-branch groups told us in meetings that someone rewrites the outlets' orders into one sheet every night, and that emailed orders get missed because suppliers live on WhatsApp and calls. For the wider category, read what restaurant purchasing software is.

Most supplier orders in Qatar start on a phone, in a chat, in the middle of service.

How did we compare these options?

We read each vendor's public pricing or product page on 3 October 2026. For Wady, we used our own product material and what restaurant groups in Qatar told us in meetings. We paraphrase those meetings and do not quote anyone we have not already named.

Three limits:

  • We did not run the competitors' products. We report only what their pages state.

  • "Not stated" means not on the page we read. It does not mean the feature is missing. Ask the vendor.

  • We picked the seven. They are the ones a Qatar buyer is likely to meet. Another list would differ.

Notes on the table:

  1. Supy is priced in US dollars, from the "Start from $250/month" plan. Foodics shows no currency on its pricing page, so we quote no price.

  2. Wady Central works alongside your POS and accounting. It does not connect to any POS by API yet. It is in English only. There is no VAT in Qatar, and the prices are early adopter prices.

  3. Foodics Inventory is included from the Basic Bundle upward. Supplier ordering detail is not stated on its pricing page.

  4. Supy lists central kitchen internal ordering and B2B ordering as add-ons. It states 50+ POS integrations.

  5. Stocktake Online lists POS integrations including Foodics, and names the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

  6. "Varies" means it depends on how the business sets it up. We name no vendor in that column.

What should a Qatar or GCC buyer look for?

Check these seven things before you pick. Each one is a place where ordering goes wrong in a busy kitchen.

  1. Supplier adoption. Does your supplier use the system, or will you chase them to open it? A system your suppliers ignore saves you no time.

  2. Your agreed prices. The app should show the price you negotiated, not a list price. Otherwise you message the supplier to check.

  3. Languages for your staff. The person placing the order should read the app in their own language. Check Arabic and the languages your team speaks. Wady's Purchase System runs in five languages. Wady Central is English only.

  4. Suppliers not on the platform. Some suppliers will never join. Ask what happens then. On Wady, you add the supplier yourself and the purchase order goes out by email with you copied. Operators told us suppliers can miss email, so we do not pretend this is as strong as a supplier on the app.

  5. Spend by branch. If you have more than one branch, you want to see what each one spent, by supplier, as it happens and not when the invoices land.

  6. The cost model. A free app, a per-outlet fee and a per-location licence behave differently once you open a fifth branch. Ask what changes at five and at fifteen locations.

  7. Setup time. Ask for the real number. Wady's Purchase System takes about five minutes to set up. Supy states two to four weeks of implementation.

What are the 7 options, one by one?

1. Wady Purchase System

Best for: any restaurant, cafe, hotel or caterer in Qatar that orders from several suppliers. Price: free for restaurants, forever. Wady charges suppliers, never the buyer. See pricing.

What it does: All your suppliers sit in one app, with your agreed prices loaded. You see the minimum order and pack size as you add items, and each supplier's delivery days and cut-off times. You choose a delivery date, send the order, and you and the supplier hold the same record. A supplier not on Wady yet? Add them yourself, and the purchase order goes out by email with you copied.

My Suppliers in the Wady app: every supplier you order from, in one list.

Every brand and branch sits in one account. Each team member has a login with a role. Spend shows per branch and per supplier the day it happens. You can chat with suppliers inside the app, see their offers, and record what arrived. It runs on iOS, Android and the web at order.wady.ai, in five languages.

Over 100 businesses in Qatar already use Wady, including Crave Holdings and OMC. Wady is rated 5.0 on the App Store.

"Since digitizing our entire ordering process with Wady, we have significantly cut down admin work and saved 30% on operational costs by eliminating manual errors and waste."

Mohsin, Head of Operations, Crave Holding

Our take: It does one job, ordering, and leaves stock and recipes to Wady Central. The email route for suppliers not on Wady is the weakest part, and we say so. See the Purchase System.

2. Wady Central

Best for: groups and central kitchens that need stock and cost control on top of ordering, from one cafe up. Price: Current prices are on the pricing page. There is no VAT in Qatar.

What it does: Stock, recipes, purchasing and costing in one system, with central kitchen and outlet orders, and menu and margin reports. It orders from any supplier, on Wady or not. It works alongside your POS and accounting.

Our take: It is the right tool when ordering is only half the problem. Know its limits. It does not connect to any POS by API yet, it is English only, and per-branch approvals and spending limits are not live. See Wady Central and what a central kitchen is.

3. Supy

Best for: larger multi-branch groups that want a full procurement and inventory suite with POS integrations, and can budget per location. Price: one plan, "Start from $250/month" (US dollars). Source: supy.io pricing.

What it does: Procurement with requisitions and purchase orders, permissions and approvals, supplier management, invoices and credit notes. It also covers inventory and recipes. Central kitchen internal ordering and B2B ordering are listed as add-ons. It states 50+ POS integrations, mobile and web apps, and an implementation time of 2 to 4 weeks. It serves multi-branch F&B groups in the GCC, the UK and APAC (source).

Our take: It is a deep suite, and it lists permissions and approvals. A Qatar-specific presence is not stated on the pages we read, and the entry price is a budget line a single cafe may not want.

4. Foodics with its Inventory module

Best for: restaurants already on Foodics POS that want stock inside the POS. Price: bundles billed annually, no currency shown on the page, so we quote none. Source: foodics.com pricing.

What it does: Foodics is a POS and restaurant management platform. Inventory is included from the Basic Bundle upward. The site lists Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Kuwait and Jordan.

Our take: If your till is already Foodics, keeping stock there is a natural step. Qatar is not listed on that page, and supplier ordering detail is not stated on the pricing page, so ask both before you rely on it for ordering.

5. Stocktake Online

Best for: kitchens whose main need is stock counts and invoice capture. Price: per-location licence, price not public. Source: Stocktake Online.

What it does: Inventory software for Gulf restaurants, based in Dubai. It covers inventory, standing orders from stock levels, recipe costing and invoice scanning, with POS integrations including Foodics. It names the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Our take: It starts from stock and works outward to orders. Choose it when counting and invoices are the pain. Qatar is not named on that page, so confirm availability first.

6. WhatsApp, calls and email

Best for: one outlet with two or three suppliers. Price: free, and everyone has it.

What it does: It is the default in Qatar. Your suppliers answer it, and a voice note at 6 am works. The cost is the spread. Orders live in groups, calls and emails. Prices get checked by message. Nobody can pull a clean record when a delivery arrives wrong, and nobody knows what a branch spent until the invoices land.

Our take: Stay on WhatsApp until the number of suppliers or branches makes the spread cost you hours. See WhatsApp vs one app.

7. Spreadsheets plus emailed purchase orders, or an ERP purchasing module

Best for: finance-led groups that already run an ERP.

What it does: A spreadsheet is flexible and costs nothing to start. A purchasing module inside an ERP can tie orders to the ledger. We name no vendors here and give no prices, since they vary widely.

Our take: Both work when someone owns the file or the system, and both depend on that person.

FAQ about restaurant supplier ordering systems

Is there a free supplier ordering app in Qatar?

Yes. Wady's Purchase System is free for restaurants, cafes, hotels and catering kitchens in Qatar, with no fees and no contracts, forever. Wady charges the suppliers, never the buyer. Of the paid options above, none state a free plan on the pages we read.

Do my suppliers need to join?

No. Connect a supplier on Wady with a code or invite link. If a supplier is not on Wady, add them yourself with their products and prices, and the purchase order goes out by email with you copied. Suppliers on the app answer faster, so ask your main ones to join.

Does a supplier ordering system replace my POS?

No. A supplier ordering system handles buying. Your POS handles selling. Wady Central works alongside your POS and accounting, and does not connect to any POS by API yet. Foodics is a POS, so for Foodics users the question is different.

Can I use it outside Qatar?

Wady is built for Qatar. We do not claim it serves other GCC countries. If you run a group elsewhere in the GCC, message us and ask. The criteria in this guide still apply to any vendor you look at.
